Living five minutes away changes how back pain can be handled. A diagnostic block and the procedure it points to can sit a week apart without either costing you a morning, so there is no pressure to do everything in one visit.

This page covers the practical side of coming from Nocatee. For the medicine, see how we diagnose and treat back pain.

How it works

How many trips it usually takes.

  1. 01

    Visit one: about an hour

History, examination, and your MRI or X-ray read with you on the screen. Bring the images if you have them, not only the report. This visit is for diagnosis; an injection the same day is the exception.

  2. 02

A diagnostic block, if two sources are still possible

A few minutes under image guidance. The numbing lasts hours by design, and whether your pain switches off in that window tells us if that joint or nerve is the source.

  3. 03

    The procedure

An epidural injection or radiofrequency ablation, done in this office. Most take minutes and you go home the same day. Your insurer may need to approve ablation first; we handle that submission.

  4. 04

    Follow-up

A short visit to judge the result and decide whether anything further is needed.
