Frequently Asked Questions

Below are common questions we get about our practice and the procedures we perform. Don’t hesitate to ask us if you don’t get your question answered here!

Absolutely not! Our philosophy is to get to the root cause of the pain and build from the ground up. This can include any number of treatments. We will always create an individualized treatment plan that you are comfortable with. In fact, we prefer when patients do not require medications.

Injections are often appropriate to help improve pain and function. However, we also want to use them strategically. We create a treatment plan just for you and we always take your input into account.
We have to be honest. Anytime we break the skin there is going to be a little pain. However, we use the smallest needles possible, lots and lots of numbing medicine, and cold spray to numb the skin. So, we use every option possible to make the injection as pain-free as possible.
We do not use IV sedation for our procedures. Frankly, because of the numbing medicine used and the nature of the procedure, IV sedation is not needed. However, we do offer oral sedation (medications by mouth) at patient request. Simply ask and we can make it happen.
Everyone is different and results are varied. For steroid injections, the average is 3-6 months. For ablation procedures, the average is 6-12 months. For PRP and bone marrow aspirate concentrate procedures, the average can be several years.
